These terms govern your use of the Ataraxia mobile application ("the app"), operated by Sheen Digital ("we", "our", "us"). By downloading or using the app, you agree to these terms.

1. Use of the App

Ataraxia is a personal reflection app inspired by Stoic philosophy. You may use the app for personal, non-commercial purposes. You agree not to:

• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app
• Use the app in any way that violates applicable laws
• Attempt to interfere with the app's operation or infrastructure
• Redistribute, resell, or sublicense the app or its content

2. Accounts and Data

Ataraxia does not require an account. Your data (reflections, preferences, streaks) is stored locally on your device. We are not responsible for data loss caused by uninstalling the app, device failure, or other circumstances outside our control.

3. Subscriptions and Purchases

Ataraxia offers optional premium features through in-app subscriptions and purchases:

• Free trial: If offered, the free trial gives you access to premium features for a limited period. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your subscription will automatically convert to a paid subscription.
• Subscription plans: Weekly and annual subscription options are available. Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
• Lifetime purchase: A one-time purchase option grants permanent access to premium features.
• Billing: All payments are processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. We do not handle payment information directly.
• Cancellation: You can cancel your subscription at any time through your device's App Store or Play Store subscription settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
• Refunds: Refund requests are handled by Apple or Google in accordance with their respective refund policies.

4. Content

The quotes, reflection prompts, and educational content in Ataraxia are provided for personal enrichment and inspiration. While we strive for accuracy in attributing quotes to their original authors, historical attribution of ancient texts can be uncertain. The content is not a substitute for professional advice of any kind.

5. Intellectual Property

The Ataraxia app, including its design, code, branding, original content, and user interface, is the intellectual property of Sheen Digital. Stoic quotes in the public domain remain in the public domain. You may share individual quotes from the app for personal, non-commercial use.

6. Availability and Updates

We aim to keep Ataraxia available and up to date, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may update, modify, or discontinue features at any time. Updates may be required to continue using the app.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Sheen Digital shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app. The app is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.

8. Governing Law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
